PEEL TREATMENT PROTOCOL
For the most effective results we recommend a series of six peels in which each peel is performed every two weeks. The treatment time can be increased based on client reaction. Following the initial 12-week treatment program we recommend a maintenance program of a once monthly peel treatment.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR IN-OFFICE PROCEDURE
Be sure to have the following items before beginning:
-
Cotton pads
-
Timer
-
Neutralizer (2 tbsp. baking soda mixed with 1 cup water).
-
Purifying cleanser or other mild, soap-free cleanser
-
Cleanse the skin and allow to dry.
-
Defat the skin with Isopropyl alcohol.
-
Apply Peel horizontally, and then again vertically to all areas being treated.
-
-
Observe treated areas for erythema (redness). If erythema occurs, apply neutralizer
-
In the absence of erythema. Use time as an indicator of when to apply Peel Neutralizer. The patient’s first treatment is usually timed at 1-6 minutes. *(Pure 70% can cause frosting at 30 seconds so adjust accordingly and neutralize early if necessary). Timing may vary depending on patient’s skin type and their history of use with AHA products and treatments. Apply Peel Neutralizer with cotton to all areas which were treated with peel.
-
To Ensure Peel Formula has neutralized, apply another layer to all treated areas with water.
-
Apply Post-peel Moisturizer to all treated areas. Emu oil is an excellent choice.
