For over 40 years, benzoyl peroxide has been one of the most effective treatments for acne - but benzoyl has finally evolved. We use only Curoxyl micronized benzoyl. Get the treatment deeper into your pores than ever before. Kill the bacteria before it has a chance to spread.
- Smallest benzoyl molecules available.

- Exfoliate inside follicles.
For over 40 years, benzoyl peroxide has been one of the most effective treatments for acne. However, most traditional benzoyl peroxide formulas contain benzoyl peroxide molecules that are larger than the average human pore (50 microns). This can lead to decreased efficiency, instability and skin irritations. Our unique Curoxyl(R) formulation contains specially milled Curoxyl(R) benzoyl peroxide particles that are less than 10 microns. These small and stable particles allow the product to penetrate the pores more efficiently to eliminate the P. acnes bacteria with less irritation.
Benzoyl Peroxide is an integral part of any acne treatment program. BP is a powerful oxidant which diffuses into the skin and has the ability to kill the bacteria that aggravates the acne problem. BP is also used to exfoliate the buildup of excess skin deep in the follicles, suppresses irritating fatty acids, and loosens impactions - which all aid in controlling acne.
Benzoyl Peroxide's action is similar to pouring hydrogen peroxide on a cut. Upon contact the BP creates bubbles and releases oxygen. The same is true of BP, but it has the advantage of using "benzoyl" - which pulls the peroxide deep into the pores. C-Acnes bacteria can not survive in the presence of oxygen, so as the oxygen is pulled deep into the pores it is killed.
*While Benzoyl is wet it can cause bleaching of fabrics. If you are applying this to your back, or on your face just before bed, you may experience bleaching of your pillow case or T-shirt. Please use an old shirt and put an old cover on your pillow to test.
Acne Treatment Regimen
You truly need 3 things to control acne. Benzoyl Peroxide, Vitamin A and Hydroxy acids. I highly suggest utilizing the AB Cleanser each day to exfoliate and control oils. You may want to add on a Salicylic peel either weekly or Bi-weekly to get control of your acne. Each evening you can alternate the BP5 with Retinol .10% (or retinA) to gain control of your acne. **This is the exact regimen that I personally follow to control my acne. I found that the combination of the 3 was able to put my skin in full control. On rare occassions I run into a small patch of bumps - but this is purely hormonal.

Benzoyl Peroxide can definitely be drying - this IS the entire point. You want to have a light amount of flaking on your skin when you wake. You may use our Acne Diamond Dermabrasion Scrub to get off any flakes, or you may want to invest in our Wooden Face Brush - either will work well and keep your face smooth. You will want to apply the BP5 everywhere you are prone to acne - even if you are not breaking out at the time! *AVOID eye area. We suggest starting off using it 1x per day. or every other day. You may either leave it on all evening, or you can wash it off after 30-60 minutes. If you find that you are getting too dry then cut back to every other day and build up from there as you skin get's more tolerant.
