Jessners Solution 14/14/14
Options* Prep B Solution and Gauze Pads
This is a medium depth peel most beneficial for those with extensive damages, problematic and cystic acne. It is not recommended for overly dry types or pigmented skin*. We find that this is extremely beneficial for those with severe, cystic acne and back acne. This peel is a very strong medium strength peel (such as TCA 20%+). It will cause frosting almost immediately upon application and will provide you with much peeling. You will most likely want to plan your schedule around this peel, since there will be down time for about 3-4 days.
You must prepare your skin for any peel - especially a medium depth peel such as a Jessners. Please follow the link below to read all about peeling and the different acids.
After you have prepared your skin for 2 weeks, we suggest the following application process:
- Wash face with acidic cleanser.
- Dry and apply 1-2 layers of Peel Prep Solution B. This will aid in numbing the skin slightly for a more comfortable peel.
- Air Dry.
- Apply peel for suggested time frame on direction sheet.
- Rinse well after 4-5 hours.
*If you have melasma, are heavily pigmented, darker skinned or have a tan, we suggest you first treat the pigment with a bleaching/fading gel prior to peel usage.
After your peel your skin will feel as though you have a sunburn. It may be pink-red and feel tight. Use a gentle cleanser 1-2x per day (do not scrub your skin), pat dry and apply a moisturizing ointment. (Emu +CP is a wonderful combination for healing and regeneration). DO NOT EVER tug on ANY skin that is peeling from your face (even if it is just hanging there). You can cause excessive damage resulting in severe scarring if you tear off a piece that is still attached at the end. *Most people will start to flake between days 2-4 and will finish in 6-7 days.
o 1st day – Pink/red depending on how many layers of solution applied. Slightly tight.
o 2nd day – Red/brownish coloring, a bit tighter feeling.
o 3rd day – Dry, leathery appearance. A bit of cracking/peeling around most active areas of face (mouth, chin, nose).
o 4th + day – Darker brown where skin has not peeled. Pink areas where skin has peeled. Very uneven texture (make up will not be able to cover).

Miracle in a Bottle

I developed severe adult cystic acne about 1 year ago (I had pimples as a teenager, but never anything so deep/ painful). At the time, I had just graduated from college and no longer had health insurance. I could not afford to see a dermatologist, and the cycstic acne got to the point where my face was constantly swollen and it hurt to make certain facial expressions.
I was broke and desperate, so I completely dried mty skin out with rubbing alcohol. But I was still left with a lot of scarring- deep under my cheekbones, I had developed a hard layer of scars- almost like a bumpy sheet of brown-purple skin about 1/16-1/8 inch thick.
I bought a sample size of the Jessner's peel quite some time ago and tried it, "de-fatting" my skin first and applying with a cotton ball. It did not work at all the first time I used it (I don't think I left it on long enough for my skin). I did not even think about using it for months, but one day something told me to use what was left in the bottle and try again.
This time when I tried it, applying it with gauze instead of cotton, I made sure I saw clear frosting (the website says that frosting will happen immediately, but this is not the case with my thicker skin- it takes at least one minute for me to see frost). This time, using Jessner's correctly, it removed the entire, thick, bumpy, purple "sheet" of acne scarring from under my cheekbone. I have used it twice since, and it has helped restore an even tone to my skin and has slightly reduced my ice pick acne scars.
The only downside is that you will want to go into hiding starting on about day 4- skin will come off in brown, leathery sheets. By day 6, there were still a few tiny patches that hadn't peeled, but I could cover them with makeup. Oh, another downside is the extreme burning (you will be crying and will want a fan nearby), but I like this because there is no doubt that it is working. Once you see the result though, you will forget about the minor pain.
