DIY Eyelid Lift: What ACTUALLY Works vs. Viral Scams (Plastic Surgeon Alternative?)
The filler that they put in there is basically, it's hyaluronic, so it's going to just keep pulling moisture, so it might look lovely that first day or first week or two or month, but before you know it, it just keeps doing that, and then people end up getting really puffy underneath and have to have it dissolved, and who the heck wants to go through that?
And give you all the tools that you'll need.
We've been asking the group what they want to learn, and one of the biggest things was eyelift or eyes in general. One of the ones that really stuck out to me was Anna. She said, “eyes in general, lifting, under eye dryness, volume loss, and wrinkles. What is the best protocol to address all this?” So we know many people are dealing with these issues. Why don't we talk about, you know, some of the frustrations there, and then we'll dive into: can we actually fix this?
Yeah, it's frustrating to have a drawer filled with broken promises, broken dreams, broken dreams. Seriously, because you know, a lot of times, like you'll see something, and you're like, oh, this is it…
This is the one, because I saw before and after, and on TikTok, and it made it look perfect.
Yeah.
And a lot of times it's not, you know, most of the time I think the majority of the stuff you see is just like a super thick cream, or something that's just really moisturizing, and while moisturizing is great, and it can help things appear a little bit more plump and softer, it really isn't fixing.
Right.
It's not really fixing loose skin. Oh my gosh, I think I remember my mother-in-law showing me. She loves to, like, send me photos of ads. “Does this work? Do you think this will work?” And I'm like, “nope.” Read it. She sends me, I read the ingredients, I'm like…
There's not much in there.
Just like, you know, hyaluronic and some moisturizer. That is not going to make this picture look like this after the picture. Like, there are a lot of deceiving photos out there, and it's just meant to sell a product. They don't care if they're coming back to buy more. You know, we do, right? We make sure that every product has everything you need. We want it to work for you.
Oh yes.
You know, we want you to get such great results, and you're enjoying what you're seeing, so you're coming back and doing it again, and you know, we're not about things like that, which is most of the garbage, literal garbage that you see out there. It's just like, you might as well just buy any old cold cream, you know, from the drugstore, as to what they're going to do.
Hydration is part of it, so you know how, like you said, you know, it has hyaluronic acid, and that's about it. So that is part of it. Part of it could be, you know, allergies. There are other avenues that may be, you know, come into play, you know, where you have the puffiness.
You can have allergies and stuff and not even realize it. You don't have to be sneezing and sniffling all the time to have allergies, and allergies can cause, you know, definitely dryness. It can cause dark circles. It can cause puffiness, all of these things, and that's why a lot of times I'll tell people, like, if you're constantly dealing with puffiness, try something like take a Claritin or an Allegra or something like that for a month straight, and see if that improves, because a lot of times it does. A lot of times, people have allergies, and I know I do all have, like, allergies to makeup.
Like, with certain makeups I apply, my eyes will just be watering, watering, watering. I'm like, oh my gosh, but that's like an obvious sign. Not every sign is that obvious. It's just like, you know, extreme dryness under your eyes or that puffiness or the dark circles. Like, those are just the most common ones.
And if you're a side or face sleeper, you know, you wake up in the morning, and you're like, yikes, you know, and that's where our caffeine eye roller comes into play.
Right, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yes, absolutely. Like, reduce that puffiness instantly, and tighten things up. That's very beneficial.
Well, and we want to give people hope too, right? Because Missy posted this, and she was doing Jessner's Peels. She prepped with Fade Bright and Fusion for several months while she was prepping her skin, and she just had an amazing reduction in her under-eye wrinkles. Her eyes are lifted. Like, this is what we're gonna walk through today.
Absolutely, look at that.
That is amazing, and the fun thing about that is we always talk about, like, TCA, which is the one that stimulates collagen and elastin, but let me look at what, you know, even a series of Jessner’s Peels can help. Like, we're saying, like, all peels are helpful. All peels stimulate, you know, a turnover in your skin and new tissues forming, so they're all beneficial. I love to see stuff like this. That was really fun, that everybody was like, oh, I need to do a Jessner’s Peel on my eyes. Like, well, okay.
And we do have our handy little eye peel kit, along with videos that show exactly how to apply it.
Yeah, whether it's TCA or Jessner, I wouldn't recommend any milder peels.
Right.
But let's have some fun and watch some videos about what not to do.
Oh
Because before we get into what works, let's talk a little bit about some of the craziest stuff out there.
Probably doesn't work.
Yeah.
“Hello, my friends. Today, we're going to try out a product called Wonder Stripes, the Instant Eye Lift. These are products designed to help eliminate the hooded lid, so let's give this a try. Tilt your head back, and then apply the strip into the crease. Tap and hold for proper placement, and then you'll see the difference with one eye with the strip.”
Now, I've seen some things like this, stickers and whatnot, that you put with Asian eyes a lot of times, whether they want it to be, like, more open, or they want to create an upper lid.
Okay.
They'll use these stickers on the tops of their eyes.
But you can see the stickers, no?
Yeah, you can see the stickers.
So, like, how would you go about your daily…
Right, they put makeup on top of it. Now, my whole thought process with this, and what I don't like about that, and I've just got to say this for a minute, is, like, that has to stick to your skin. And if you've already got loose skin, and you're putting something on there that you're going to have to peel off, and it's going to pull your skin even more, especially if it's meant to stay, like, all day.
Right.
I feel like it's going to make the problem worse.
I'm thinking…
In the long run. I would not want to do that. I just think that scares me. Yeah, I don't like that.
And now there's more. “You're going to massage all your wrinkles away.” content.
“Guys, try this face fitness pose. With your hands, lift your eyebrows up, and look down with your eyes. Open and close your eyes for 30 seconds, and enjoy instant results.”
Instant? I've heard of lymphatic draining and such, but that's not even…
Like, you can hold your face in any position you want. You can squeeze your nose. You can pull your nose. You're not going to change the shape. You're not going to change your muscles, maybe for a couple of minutes. You know what I mean? Like, maybe you're pulling things into place, and it's going to stay there for a couple of minutes or a couple of seconds, but that's not going to fix your eyes.
When I go out to dinner, every five minutes, I go to the bathroom, and I do this.
In front of the mirror.
It's the same thing.
So, same difference. She's thinking, like, oh, I'm training my muscles, basically, to, like, hold my eyes up, but I honestly don't think that's going to help either. And what scares me about everybody holding your skin in place and doing and moving, you're pulling, and you're stretching your skin. Again, you're stretching your skin more. I feel like if you did this every single day, you'd end up with more loose skin by the end of the day. You're better off just leaving it how it is and getting an upper bluff if you've got so much.
Well, and that skin is the thinnest skin on our bodies, you know, around the eye.
Yeah.
So, I feel like, yeah, like, you'd be stretching.
You don't want to be, like, stretching it and pulling it. I mean, that's, no.
What is really the issue here?
You know, as we age, skin thins and loses elasticity.
Okay.
And so, you know, there's not much you can do about that other than, you know, we've got some topical things. We've got some peels and some suggestions there. But other than that, I mean, it's just a, it's just a part of life. It's just natural. As you age, your muscles weaken, your skin thins, and, you know, it is what it is. It just doesn't perform like it used to. You've added, you know, who knows, 50 years. I mean, look at me. I'm, like, 54, right? I mean, I've gone through a lot of stuff, and my skin, of course, doesn't look like it did when I was a teenager. I mean, it's certainly a loser.
You get the hollows around the eyes and, you know, there are different things, but I have... Yeah, I've seen some really, really good results. Let's go back to, like, the hooded eyes. I've seen some really, really great results from our customers using the Eyelift Xpress and the GHK Lux Eye Cream at night, and then they'll use the Platinum Eyes during the day.
The day, yeah, because you really want to put your coppers on at night.
Yeah.
And so, with the Eyelift Xpress, this has, like, probiotics and all that kind of good stuff, but it also has caffeine in here, so that gives you, like, that instant tightening. So, if you're dealing with puffiness and eye bags, things like that, this helps instantly, but it also helps long-term. There are a couple of different ingredients in here that help to drain the water.
Right.
So, it's like a 28-day challenge when you're using this product. Yes, the caffeine gives you that instant, but the main ingredient in here, it does take about 28 days to fully, like, drain the water out that's causing, like, the puffiness. You do get some tightening with this, you know, with the caffeine and a couple of other ingredients in there, so that's super.
The Platinum Eye Cream also helps reduce swelling and puffiness.
This does. This has ingredients to help reduce swelling. This has ingredients for dark circles. This, and obviously, it's super moisturizing. There's also, like, there's, like, two different forms in here. There are a lot of different ingredients in here. Obviously, this is formulated for the eye area.
Yes.
Most people like to use this during the day, and then they'll use the GHK Luxe at night, and that's copper, right? So, this is the first generation of copper peptides. Very, very anti-aging, skin remodeling kind of peptides. And some of the ingredients in here are the DMAE and the PephaTight? Both of these help to tighten and lift the skin a little bit. And you can see some visuals. Do we have any photos of anyone using stuff?
Like, check out Vanessa's hood reduction.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, wow.
Oh, a huge difference. Like, the puffiness has gone away.
In the picture on the left, you cannot even see the lid.
Yeah.
You know?
Yeah. And now, all of a sudden, she's on the upper lid again.
I'm telling you I…
Big difference. And that was the GHK Luxe.
Yeah.
This one's GHK Luxe, too.
So, this one is, but definitely worth the time. So, you can see that it's hard to pull up both videos at once, but she's had a huge reduction in her right and left eyes.
You know, her eyes are open, you know, wide up.
They're a little puffier, too.
And then, this one's insane. So, let's look at this one. This is Susan. Like, the just dramatic reduction in swelling and everything else.
An absolute huge reduction. And I would guarantee you, she's using more than just the GHK Luxe. She's probably also using, and look, for six months.
Yeah, she's using the Restoration Eye Cream.
Yeah.
And then the GHK Eye Cream in PM.
Yeah.
And she's been doing it for six months, too.
And that's all she's using. Isn't that, that's awesome? That's, and it's not just a moisturizer. There are active ingredients here that focus on reducing swelling and minimizing those lines. There's a big difference in the puffiness in her, too, immediately. You can always tell up top, you know, where it almost looks like, you know, it starts to get puffy towards the outsides here. You can just see it. And then, in the second one, it's gone and looks normal again.
That bottom lid is really showing again. So what a difference.
And even under the eyes, texture-wise, very smooth.
Absolute difference there.
Dark circles improved. Absolutely. I mean, it's an amazing product. It really is. And it is blue in color.
It is, but it's a light blue. And even if, let's say, even if you are using this during the day, which I don't really recommend, like copper, Dr. Pickart had always said, like, once per day is enough. He doesn't want people to overuse it.
You could use it in the morning or evening.
Yeah.
The only time I would suggest using this during the day is if, let's say, you're an avid tretinoin user, which is the acid form of vitamin A, so retinoic acid.
Yeah.
GHK and retinoic acid don't play well together.
No.
The acids will damage GHK. So if you like using tretinoin on your whole face and eye area at night, you would want to use GHK Luxe during the day. But like I said, I mean, yes, it's this lovely, pretty, like, periwinkle blue color that I love. But if you're not putting on so much, it's going to turn your eyes blue. You don't have to worry about that. If you are, you're putting way, way too much on. But that really should be fine.
Less is more, for sure. You only need a small amount. Over time, the color can turn darker. It can get a little bit darker, too. And copper doesn't have a fabulous smell, so they do, you know, have a little bit of a…
I feel like the GHK doesn't smell as bad as, like, second generation does.
I mean, some people are just more sensitive to smells than others. So it's one of those where…
Neither bothers me.
Yeah. And it's worth it. I'm telling you. It's a great product.
For sure.
And I want to make one comment: can our retinol, our Fusion A, be used with the GHK?
Yes. Only the acid form can be used. So, only tretinoin can be used alongside GHK. You can use retinaldehyde or granactive retinoid, retinol, any of the esters that are below that, palmitates, and all that kind of thing. All of those are fine to put on at the same time as GHK. So yeah, don't worry about that.
Excellent.
Let's talk about some more things that you can do.
Yes.
So, other than the eye creams that are already created as, you know, standalone products, we have our Dr. Platinum Potions line.
Sure.
And these, like, whereas these have active ingredients in them, like this has Regu-Age and, you know, a couple of specifics.
Yeah.
You can also kind of create your own. You can do a two-potion or a four-potion serum. I don't want to hit a little battle, as you can create, you can put four actives in this one, or we have the half-ounce size, you can do two actives. And there are a couple of them that are really good for the eye area. I think the number one thing that we always think about is the Matrixyl Synthe'6.
Yeah.
And this is a 35%, so, so, so, so high percentage. You can mix it into your eye cream. You can mix it into your serum. You can mix it into the GHK Luxe. Any of these can be mixed together. Sure.
Or layered, either or.
Or layered. So the ones we have set aside as kind of the best are like Matrixyl Synthe'6. And we have this one right here, SKINectura. This is another one. Even the photo is showing around the eye area. This one is very good for the eyes and elasticity. And another really good one for elasticity is Citrustem.
Sure. And I honestly, between these three, I've always recommended Citrustem and Matrixyl.
Yeah.
And then when we came out with the new one, I can't, like, I'm like, “oh, you're going to have to get a four potion” because I can't pick.
I know, it's tough.
I can't narrow it down to these three. Like these three are super good. And another one that's actually good too, in the long run, teaching your skin how to behave better, in a way, is like the Apple Stem Cell.
For sure.
That's another good one. So you could put like all four of those in here and add like a little pump. Put that on first before your eye creams. I think that will be a super option. Now, other than that, I would highly, highly suggest a TCA peel. And we have our Eye Peel Kit, which you can grab over there.
Yeah.
That includes the TCA 7, but you don't have to buy the eye peel kit if you don't want to. It depends on what you have at home. But you can purchase the eye peel kit, which has two bottles of TCA 7, right? So you get several peels from that because you're only using such a tiny, tiny amount.
Right.
And it has the luminosity.
And then the luminosity, yep, that we put on for a few days afterwards. And then that one also comes with the Matrixyl Synthe'6, which we have sitting right here.
Oops.
Oop, I got it. Those all come in that kit. And that will set you up for a couple of months' worth of doing peels.
Get a nice little handy-dandy direction card in here.
Yep, shows you how to do it. And we also have the video, which I always want everybody to watch because normally, like when you put a peel on, we want it to be a little bit wetter. But when we're doing the eye area, I'm making it a really drier application.
Yeah, you want to wring out that gauze.
Yeah, we don't want any drips to get in the eye. We want to be very, very careful with how we do this. So watch the video, do it along with me at least the first couple of times, and make sure you're comfortable with how we're doing it. But TCA is just one of those things that really superstimulates collagen and elastin in the skin. And nothing, I really don't feel anything is going to work better than that as like the base. If you're really trying to tackle hooded eyes and similar issues, I think that is key. And then you've got your daily products. Now, there are times when that's not enough. Yes, it's helpful, and we need to get our skin where our skin needs to be. But if it's not enough for you and you still have a lot of excess skin, which can totally happen, then it needs to be removed. Too much skin needs to be removed. And that's like an upper blepharoplasty. It's not a problematic surgery. It's a very quick and simple surgery. I don't think I've ever heard anyone say that was a horrendous thing. And that's a quick and easy surgery.
And there's nothing wrong with surgery. I just want to say, like everybody's trying to do everything without surgery.
I get that. I get that. But if you get to the point, as you said…
If you're still not happy, if you've been treating this for six months or a year or something, you're still not happy. Go get the surgery. You know, I don't want you to be unhappy, because we can't remove extra skin.
True. Let's talk about the hollows around the eyes.
Yeah. Hollowing is tough, right? Hollowing, like many things that happen in our skin as we age, is an aging issue.
Yeah.
You know, we have our natural fat pads, or where they are. And as you age, sometimes they just kind of deplete themselves. They either go down and leave you with these really rough holes here, or they slide down and create a big bag.
Okay.
Right. That happens with some people. So some of it just kind of like just goes away, and you're left with this big area where you could like see your bones.
Yeah.
Now, if you have some fat there, this fat is not generally, I think, adipose fat there. That's the specific fat that responds to like the Adipofill'IN that we have.
Yes.
If you have some adipose tissue here, you could use Adipofill'IN, which could help a little bit.
Okay.
This is definitely a good area.
And that's something that you would apply twice a day.
That's another mix that goes with all of these. I would want to put that separate, right where I want it, right where I want that fat to be.
Good for the nasolabial folds, too.
Yeah. So that central part of the face is where it's most.
Right.
Yeah. I should have had that one.
I think there's a little map on the Adipofill'IN page that shows where the adipose tissue is and where it's best applied.
Exactly.
Yeah.
And now, so that's all helpful and beneficial, but you know, I've had to do this myself, so I can tell you it worked very well for me. I had, you know, the under-eye hollows, and there was no way I was going to put filler under there. Please don't put filler under there. The filler they put in there is basically hyaluronic acid. So it's going to just keep pulling moisture. So it might look lovely that first day or first week or two or months, but before, you know, it, it just keeps doing that. And then people end up getting really puffy underneath and have to have it dissolved. Who the heck wants to go through that?
Right.
Right.
So, as a natural alternative, this is what I did. It's called either PRP, like platelet-rich plasma, I think, or PRF, and that's what the fibronectin is in there, too. So they take your blood, which, you know, that's not the greatest, but it's not the worst. They take your blood, and they spin it in a centrifuge, and separate the platelets from all of your natural growth factors. And then they mix that with a little something, put it into a syringe, and deposit it here. It's not a filler, but it does stimulate, like putting growth factors and stuff there stimulates your body to regenerate new tissues and help plump and fill in this area. And I did that a few times. I usually do it for a series of three treatments. And I like really hated my eye area. I was like, that's all I could see.
And then it really did. It really did fill it in, you know, of course, they take your pictures, and I see the difference. I'm like, “My gosh, like it's, it's like, it's amazing.” So I always tell people to do that. Please don't put filler in there.
Right.
And you can do that, plus these things, too. Like it's never this or that, it's all of it.
And if you go to a good injector, they will feel the bones in your face and tell you whether you are a candidate for these fillers.
That is very true because they can only get so close to your eyes. And there's like a little special area where they can deposit it. I think most people are pretty good. It really depends on what your issues are. If it's hollowing and similar work, it's a really good option for you. If it's not hollowing, then obviously there are a couple of different things.
Something you've got to do a lot of research on. It's not something that you want, you know, it's costly. And then if you had to dissolve it, I mean, that's so frustrating.
That's the good thing about PRP and PRF: they're from your own body. So there's nothing to reject or anything. It's just your own growth factors, like multiplied in this area to help like that. So I think that's my best thing. And that's what I tell people in the group all the time who are having those issues, because yeah, I understand. I was there too.
I really liked that one, and “Hey, maybe they'll come out with some newer stuff in the future.” I'm sure they will. Some other new amazing thing, but until then.
Now, what about microneedling under the eye?
If you want a microneedle under the eye, I don't know that it's going to help with hollowing or anything, but it might help with eye wrinkles and general creepiness. Like you definitely want, don't want to go any closer than your orbital bone. So that's that same bone right here. So you could, you know, for a couple of seconds, pull the skin taut, you know, so you can pull that skin down and then stamp going across your bone, but don't get any closer than that orbital bone. And we do talk about that in the video. Like, when I'm stamping in the alchemy video tutorial, I do get very close.
I go along the crow's feet area, and I just kind of like keep my little finger there. So I don't get too close. I mean, God, the last thing you want is a needle in your eye. So I just kind of like used my finger as a guide to get close enough. And you can definitely do the top parts of your lids because your orbital bone is right here. You can do this, but you just can't do…
not on your actual…
on your actual eyelid, the bottom part. You obviously don't want to do that. We don't want to be poking our eyeballs, but you can do up top.
Now, would you recommend our EXO PDRN with the exosomes, the AD?
Oh yeah. I think exosomes would be a good combo.
That would be a really good combo. And you know, you probably take about half of your AD bottle and add it to a full bottle of the PDRN, let that get all, you know, liquefied, and then needle with that. I think that would be a good one. Even the EHR would be good, too. There's lots of good stuff in the EHR. You could add the EXO AD. As a matter of fact, I think that's what I do in the video. I have the EHR, and I add the EXO AD to that. And that's what I use to needle. Just kind of show how you can mix and match things. But you can, you can match, you can mix all three of those if you want.
Right, right.
And get a little bit of everything.
Now, if you are mixing like PDRN with the AD, PDRN is a little thicker. So sometimes you may have to add, you know, maybe a little pump of Regenerate or something like that to thin it out a bit. Or maybe a little Hyaluron.
And let's not forget, you can add other things too. Let me grab one real quick. Let me grab one of these. This is our, you know, our needling set here.
Yeah.
And we're filling up this, but let's just, let's just look at one of these serums. So this is the serum. This is the EXO EHR serum that we're going to pour into our tool. If you want, you can pour this in. As I said, you can mix this with any serum you want. You can also add some of the Dr. Platinum potions. I don't want you mixing potions straight; on your direction card, you will see that you can add a drop. Cause keep in mind, this is 35%.
This is not a half a percent or 1%. This is 35%. You can add one drop into this. Maybe you want to add 1 drop of SKINectura and 1 drop of Citrustem, then mix it all together. Add your AD in there, add the things that are good for your eye area. They're good for your face, too. And then, you know, needle that, micro-infuse that into your skin, but you can add all of these into there. That's a really good thought.
Yeah, for sure.
Really good.
And you don't have to, when you're needling, you don't have to do all over the face. You could spot-treat only in certain troubled areas.
Absolutely. You could. Yeah. That's another great one to add on there. Just like I said, don't get closer than the orbital bone or pull that skin a little bit. I hate pulling skin of any kind, but if you want to get a little closer, you might have to pull it down a bit.
And as a safety feature, when you're doing the chemical peel, make sure you put a Vaseline barrier around your eyelash line.
Yes.
You know, you're going to have that gauze pad, you know, squeezed out where it's not dripping, but you want to take all the precautions.
Yeah. And when you watch the video, you'll see that too. You'll see me putting that on, and it's not gobs. You're not going to look like you have an eye infection or something. Right. We're just the lightest smear. It's a barrier. That's all that's required. But I think with all of these different things, I mean, that's a lot of options.
Yeah, for sure. Well, there you are.
Yeah. Yeah. There's a video I'm going to show you that shows exactly how to do that. And even on the card is going to show you like one swipe, two swipes, three swipes, and then, you know, go around the side. It's so simple.
I do get the question a lot. Like, can I use a Q-tip?
All right. You could. Some people find a Q-tip easier. I just always want to exercise caution. A Q-tip is made of cotton, and cotton can really hold a lot of liquid. So if you are using that Q-tip, I want you to take it, like, roll it along the side of your bottle. Make sure there's no drips.
Right.
Because that's where the danger is if it's too wet.
For sure.
But if you want to use it a little bit more precise, go ahead. I prefer gauze.
A little bit more control with the gauze.
I feel more control with that.
Yeah.
But I do understand using a little gauze if there are small spots you want to reach.
Yeah.
You can like really see what you're doing.
For sure.
Yeah, for sure.
But yeah, absolutely. I think we've covered quite a few amazing things they could do. I mean, the needling, the peels, the potions, the creams.
Yes.
We got lots.
And as we've seen results using these things.
Absolutely.
Even just the daily products results, let alone adding on the peels and stuff like we saw that dramatic one with her doing Jessner. You still think TCA is the best. She got great results with that, but that doesn't mean that.
Yeah.
Just because she could have done it with TCA and got the same wonderful results.
And take those photos. So then you can go back and see.
So we can see. We can see you. I mean, these people, that's the beauty of taking a photo.
Yeah.
You know, I want you to take a photo before you get started.
Yeah.
And then 30 days later, you're kind of going to do, you know, once a month. 30 days later, 30 days later, 30 days later, 30 days later. Now, when you start looking at, you know, this one, this one, this one, and this one from a year now, you will be blown away by the difference.
And please send us your photos.
