How to Actually See Results From Peels

Many women start their skincare journey from a place of frustration. They've tried everything, nothing worked, and now they feel stuck.

But something changes the moment they find the right education, the right plan, and the proper support.

Today, we're discussing how chemical peels, when performed correctly, can be more than just a treatment.

They can be a mindset shift from hopeless to empowered. From confused to confident. From hiding to glowing.

Today, we're going to talk about the peel journey.

Yeah.

It's not an overnight fix.

No.

It is a process. The customer needs to understand the process and recognize that it is a lengthy one, as we receive phone calls from people who have only done one peel, and they call. Let's say it's a body peel.

It's still there.

Yeah. I had a gentleman call, actually, today. Post-surgery, he developed some pigmentation, likely due to inflammation.

Decided to do a peel. The body typically takes about two weeks to shed its skin. So his skin hasn't even started to peel yet.

So, he was discouraged because he had done this peel the previous week. He doesn't see much of anything happening right now. If anything, it looks more wrinkled and worse.

And I said, ‘Amazing, that's a great sign. That means that skin is preparing to exfoliate.’

So I said, ‘Sir, this isn't a one-and-done deal. You will need to do this for six to eight consecutive peels.’

Months?

Months. Take a photo. ‘Did you take a photo on day one?’

‘Yes, I did.’

Okay, perfect. Now take another one at day 30, day 60, day 90.

Yeah. I'd like to take that photo right before you're ready to do your next peel.

Yeah.

Kind of like, I feel like.

Yeah.

You take it at the beginning, you do your peel.

Yes.

Next month, you're ready to apply your peel. Take your photo, do your peel. And then you're just always taking your photo every time.

And yes, our app will be out in a little bit. And it will prompt you to take your photos, and it will keep those photos in line. And you'll be able to see those changes.

However, that just takes longer than expected. It's coming out.

That's what we need to talk about today. We need to talk about the journey and why it takes some time.

Yeah, and people are always, it is really funny when you think about, okay, we're doing a peel.

We're doing a TCA peel. It sounds like it's incredibly intense, and I should be magically fixed after just one peel. And we're saying, ‘Oh no, that's going to be like six to eight peels.’ And then you decide if you want to do another series.

Yeah.

And then think of those poor, like everyday products, where people are like, ‘Oh, this cream didn't fix everything on my face. It's as if it has no chance.’

No.

You know what I mean? Like, I mean, it has an opportunity over the long term, but nothing like a peel.

And even with a peel, patience is everything. You might notice a hint of something after the first peel, after the first 30 days have passed.

And you're going to do your next peel. And then, by that, I always say within 90 days. So you've done at least three peels.

If you're undergoing a significant peel, such as a TCA or Jessner peel, you can expect to see noticeable results. Like these marks are gone, so are these spots. Those lines are shorter. That's deeper.

However, it's still a journey. It is not like a sprint. It's a very long journey.

And I think if they know that going into the process, and they can…

Be more realistic.

Yeah. Think it out. Plot it out.

Okay. I'm going to put this in my phone every four weeks on this day, so I know I'm properly prepping beforehand. And that's where this app is going to be a huge success.

However, I believe that having a game plan when undertaking something significant, such as building a home or creating a master plan, is always beneficial.

It's always good to write it down. And then you see it on paper, and you can follow along. And then you can just check off every time you do.

Yeah. You're doing a picture.

Yeah. You feel like you're getting accomplished. And then as you progress and start seeing those results, that is your motivation right there.

Right. As soon as you see the first picture compared to the third or fourth picture and notice the changes, you think, 'Oh, I just have to keep going.'

Yeah.

And this is just going to keep getting better and better. And then that's where we get those pictures, where you're on Facebook and it's like, 'Look at this picture from two years ago.' And you look at this and you're like, ‘Oh my gosh. I can't even believe that's me.’

And it doesn't always have to be like a heavy TCA or TCA, Jessner's, Dream Peel; it doesn't always have to be these heavy, heavy pills. We have seen the most amazing before-and-afters with Mandelic.

With Mandelic.

I know. Right. Consistency. And we always say consistency is key.

Yes.

But the proof is in the pudding. So they say, I mean, when we see these before and after, sometimes it's just remarkable.

It's almost like somebody photoshopped that, but you can tell it's not.

No.

You can tell if somebody has tweaked a photo.

And when the customer sends the email, it's a long rant about how she couldn't even believe her own progress. Until that memory popped up on Facebook and she did the side-by-side comparison, she was taken aback, saying, 'Wow.'

You know, she was working on more or less pigmentation. And then now lots of little lines and things were less visible, and her skin looked nice and taut.

Yeah. It's cumulative, and it helps with way more than one thing. And even if, let's say, you are working on pigmentation, and we say, 'Oh, use Jessner's.'

Jessner's is still going to help all over.

For sure.

You know, your skin tone. I think you're doing a peel. However, if your focus is on wrinkles, scars, or similar concerns, I would always choose you for TCA treatment.

You want to do TCA, which is the main one. And if you're dealing with both, I like to do a couple of Jessner's, do a couple of TCA, then start layering them.

Then you're tackling both problems at the same time with the two best acids that you could use. That's for those who are ready for heavy-hitter peels.

We also have videos and other content on our website. Our peel manual always gives some information.

It has information on how to layer everything, including the single, the number of weeks, what is in between, the number of layers, and the duration of each layer.

Additionally, it features an advanced peel methods section in the back, where you can choose from options such as Jessner's plus TCA or TCA plus Dream Peel. Jessner's plus Dream Peel. Jessner's plus TCA plus Dream Peel.

As it is, everything is in place, and, of course, we have corresponding videos and text.

Our Peel University, our Peel Tool Finder.

And our Help Desk is also available on the website.

We're all about educating. You know, educating equals empowerment, so if they have the tools, which we offer on our website.

We are all about tools.

Education. They have all they need.

Follow the recommendations and just be consistent. That is the main, main, main takeaway from this video, you know.

Not instant.

Yeah, it's not instant. That's for sure.

So while it's real and it's going to last, like those changes are going to last.

Absolutely. Because that collagen is going to be stimulated during that whole peel series.

Oh yeah, you've got every time. And even, I think I've mentioned this so many times, but like even one TCA peel. If you undergo one TCA peel, it stimulates collagen production in your skin for approximately seven to eight months. It's a ridiculous amount of time.

Yeah.

Just one peel, and your skin will look better six to seven months from now.

Sure.

And now, if you're doing one a month, you've got about six peels under your belt. And that just keeps compounding. And you know, wow.

And if you're adding in those key ingredients that we always talk about, such as vitamin C and retinoids, devices like our LED.

Yes.

I mean, that's something you need.

All of it works together.

Excellent. So, the takeaway from all of this is to get on a good plan. Be consistent.

Yes.

And…

And be patient.

Be patient. Take those photos.

Yep.

Take the photos. Give it a little time. We promise you'll see, you'll see some results.

Yeah. You'll see results after the first peel. You'll see something.

Yeah.

However, it's generally three peels, with results typically visible 90 days after the treatment. So yeah, photos are everything. How many times can we say that? Take a picture.

Take a photo.

Every single time.

So true. All right. If you have any other questions, please call us at 1-800-917-3155.
