Laser vs. LED: Why Your Skincare Mask Is Probably Obsolete
Well, hi there. We may have something to talk about today.
I think so.
Super fun. Great new product.
Are you guys ready to get into it?
Yeah, let's go.
Yeah, I'm ready. Let's do this.
What is this?
All right. Well, today we are launching an exciting new product.
New product alert, new product alert.
Everybody has been waiting, me especially. You as well. As you all know, we've had an LED mask before. And as the skincare world evolves, so do devices.
Yes, technology is always improving.
Absolutely. So, you know, we can't be left behind.
Nope.
So here we are.
Yes.
We have a brand-new LED laser mask.
Yes.
So beautiful.
The packaging is amazing.
See, how can I put this in the camera here?
Beautiful. This is SOLEOS.
I love it.
I love everything about this. I love the box. I love everything. I love everything about this. Here we are. Here we are.
I love that. The packaging is beautiful.
Gorgeous.
The mask is beautiful. I have to say, super comfortable.
Yeah.
But let me back up and talk about the actual name.
Yes.
Where did the name come from?
Well, you know, the fun thing, like my daughter's middle name is Soleil, right? So we know Soleil and sole, depending on what language you're referring to, refer to the sun. So I'm thinking, you know, lights and brightness. I always kind of go through a, you know, I got to like think, what are we going to call this new product? You know, like you don't just pick like a name willy nilly, you know, like I like things to make some sort of sense, have some sort of a story, right? So we have like the sunshine, cause I'm thinking lightness and brightness.
I like that.
And then Eos, that's a Greek goddess, right? So this, this falls along the same thing. She's the Greek goddess of the dawn. She's the one who pushes away the moon so that her brother, the sun, can bring the sun out. So I thought that was so amazing. And I just love the whole concept of, you know, the sun coming up.
Yes.
And so that's kind of what we did, you know, we have this darkness, and we have this beautiful brightness. And so like, that's kind of where it stems from, right?
That makes perfect sense.
Yeah. And the colors, I love the colors. They're so pinky-rosy.
Absolutely.
And so like, this is this gorgeous mask, and it's not just a face mask, right? This is two masks together in one box.
Absolutely. So when you purchase this, you're going to be getting that one piece, but two.
Two pieces in the same box. And what I really, really want to talk about for a second here, like what makes the, oh, there are so many things that make this amazing. I don't know. Maybe we should just take our time and go over every single one. But obviously, this is considered a 4D mask, right? So this is more the shape of your face, but it's still super soft. You know, this is super soft, you know, food-grade silicone. This can go on your face. You're not going to have any kind of issues. It's so, so soft. This is going to fit your head so comfortably.
It is very comfortable.
So comfortably. Like you can even see on the back. Let me open this for a sec. And these, oh, like, like there's no ripping, tearing, nothing like this is.
Very durable.
Super sturdy.
Yes.
There's nothing that will happen to these. And then like, you know, right where it rests against your face, this is squishy, squishy silicone. So, so comfortable. You, you know, you will feel so comfortable putting this mask on. And the really cool thing about this, there's a plethora of cool things, but most of the time, honestly can't think of one mask right now that does this. Maybe, maybe somebody has something that goes under the chin, but you know, we had our original mask. It was just kind of like the flat one. People like that. It's easy to travel. This is easy to travel to.
Sure.
It's still mushy, but there wasn't that under the chin cover.
Right.
So I really wanted to make chin coverage. So everybody wants to work under the chin, but you know, your mask is just going across the front. And even if you have a neck one, it still doesn't address the chin. So this one does, this goes right under your chin. So now you've got full coverage on your chin, your neck, and your face. So, just the whole concept of this has been upgraded. So super excited about all that kind of coverage.
I also love the fact that they both plug into one charger.
Right. You know, even when we get into specifics, we have only one charger. They can both plug into the charger, and the same thing with charging. There's only like two little holes here. You plug both of them in, hook this to your clothes, and go about your day. Or if you need to charge it, you can just plug it into either one of these. Doesn't matter which one, you know, plug it in. What I like to do personally is this universal, you know, the C-port charger. That's what most phones are. I know all the main phones are that. So what I do is, like, I have my phone charging on my nightstand at night. And then when I take my phone off in the morning, I'll just plug it right into the controller, just set it there. And that's going to charge all day. It'll be ready for when I want to use it next.
So that is just like really easy. So, I mean, we give you, of course, the cord with a C on both ends, because not everybody has a USB port. It's not so common anymore.
That's kind of phased out.
The phones are coming with ports labeled C on both ends. So we wanted to make sure to put C ports on both ends of these. So, pretty much anybody can use it with any phone charger they have. Easy peasy.
Love it. Let's talk about the strap that goes over the top. You don't have it on your mask yet.
No, because I just opened this box. So, like, this is how it comes to you. Right in there, as beautiful as it was. And then this obviously wraps around your head. But there are two little openings up here. So we can, what happened with the old mask and with a lot of other masks is that they kept it from sliding down, right? You have to wear it really, really tight, right? And then what do we hear? We hear about people getting marks on their eyes and all that kind of stuff because they're relying on the mask's tightness to keep it in place. Well, we don't want that.
So obviously, we gave you these, and you can just slip them through. And I have a little head, so I'm gonna make this pretty, you know, you just slip it right through here. So now this is just gonna rest on top of your head when you wrap it around and put it on. And I'll probably have to adjust that. I don't know exactly where it needs to be, but this means you don't have to put it on so tight. This can actually be loose, and it's gonna sit on top of your head, and it's not gonna fall. It's gonna stay right in the place you want it to be.
I like the fact too, that the sides have the little slots in there where it literally-
For your ears to go through.
Yeah, you could literally, and it kind of, like I used mine last night, and I just had it on loosely, and I really used the little ear slots.
Did you like putting them on your ears?
Yeah, exactly. And I didn't even have to like Velcro it in the back because I was just kind of lying in bed watching TV.
Oh, you just like to lay it over your face. I got you. Yeah, because when you're lying in bed, I like to use mine a lot too. The time that I use it is either when I'm just first getting ready to go to bed, or sometimes, if I can't do that when I'm ready to go to bed, let's say my husband's sleeping, I don't want a flashing light show going on. I might do it in the morning.
Right.
And then, like, you know, right before my alarm goes off, I'll grab it and put it on real quick and set it. And, you know, speaking of which, I mean, I suppose we can just even like talk about the controller and the options here because one of the big things that people told us, you know, we're always like updating things and making it better, better, better. One of the things people wanted was the ability to turn infrared on and off.
Yes.
Right. And we couldn't do that with our previous ones.
Right.
So this one, we can. This one actually comes with different specific settings. And the first two settings are just like the red setting. The next one is yellow and red. And neither of those has infrared on it. So then the next settings, and there are three more different types of settings. Those ones have the infrared. And we'll talk about the different wavelengths because it's not just infrared. Like there's deeper now.
Exciting.
Like, really, really deep lights that we have in this. So that's really cool. In addition to the deeper infrared options, you can adjust the brightness.
Yes.
We've got three different brightness settings. And we also have pulse.
That was interesting. Yes.
Yes, pulse. There are some studies comparing pulse and static light, suggesting that pulse light may be more beneficial for your skin by avoiding the LED being on constantly, where it's shutting off, turning on, shutting off, turning on. And it's doing that so fast. Ours is like 40 pulses per second, I think. That gives your skin time to get used to the whole stop-and-start, stop-and-start, stop-and-start process. And it's more beneficial to your skin to have the pulse. Now you don't have to use the pulse. There's a button here to turn it on and turn it off. That's your choice if you want to use the pulse. It's your choice whether to keep it on the lower or higher setting. It is your choice whether to enable infrared. And I love the last setting specifically. I remember, I think it's called bedtime. We're in the cycle through all the colors.s.
And I think that's my favorite one.
The modes are really cool. I mean, our other mask did not have that.
Nope. You just chose a color, and that was it.
This one has lasers versus LED.
Yeah, let's just get into that.
Let's talk about the real stuff here.
This isn't just an LED mask, right? This is an LED and laser mask. So this, now what's the difference between LED and lasers, right? So LED is wonderful for your skin. Don't think for a minute it's not. And if you have an LED mask, it's perfect. Don't throw it away or anything like that. They're usually good for at least one to two years. Use it up.
But the difference is LED, and like, you know, think of like a triangle here. The LED, that light goes out and covers a broad area, right? So, LED, you don't need as many LEDs. They cover such a large area that you get such extensive coverage. Now with a laser, it's a much finer focus.
Like a laser beam.
Right, it's like an intensified focus. And it's, you know, we're really, really hammering in on this area, it's more intense. So what we did with this is I still wanted the all-over LED coverage, but I wanted that hyper-laser focus on all our problem areas. So what we did is like across the, you know, where people complain mostly, like around the 11s, around your eyes, on your nasal area, under your chin, all of these areas are where we're intensifying the lasers.
So we've got the LED that is covering everywhere. So you're always getting the LED focus. Then we have the lasers, the extra lasers that are going around all of our problems.
Our biggest problem areas that we hear from.
That is awesome.
So that's really cool. That's a huge upgrade.
Yes, and it's so easy to use. Super simple.
And okay, this makes me think of something. Some are wireless, and we're thinking, well, why isn't this one wireless? The reason this isn't wireless because wireless is fine. If you're talking about, you know, an LED mask doesn't have as many LED lights, things like that. It doesn't need the power, right? You don't, maybe you're only putting it on in short bursts of time. Like ours will go 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes. You can do multiple 30-minute sessions. It's wired because it requires power. We've got lasers in here. We've got LED in here. We've got pulsing. We've got all of these wonderful high-tech things here. And we really want it directly connected to your power source.
Absolutely.
We don't want to rely on a very tiny battery that's, like, on the side of the mask or something. It's not going to give you the power that you want when you're using something.
Sure.
So we want this fully charged. And then here, I'm not gonna put it on just so we can see it right now, but I'm going to, let's see, hold it and turn it on. That's gonna go to the first setting. It says SOLEOS. Okay, so now we're on red. Let me open it. And you can almost see in our, let me, I want to open this up a little more. You can almost see the difference if I can show you the reflection, where you can see, like, where the lasers are versus where the LEDs are? It almost looks a little bit different.
Yeah, they're a little diamond-shaped.
The focus is different.
And they are, they're more square and diamond-shaped. And see them.
And like, you can see, these almost look like they're glowing more, whereas this isn't. And this is on the repairing setting, which is just 660. And you will see that on here. It's always gonna tell you what's on. And now I'm gonna hit the button one more time, and we're going into rejuvenation mode. This shows that we're gonna do 590 (yellow) plus 660 (red). These are the two modes you can use if you don't want infrared on.
Got it.
And then we move on to the next mode, called anti-aging. Now this one has 660, which is our red. And then it has 850. So anything 830 and over is infrared. Okay. So that's much deeper penetrating.
Yes.
And now this is brand new. We have a new, deeper infrared. That's 1072.
Wow.
That is the deepest one that I'm aware of right now.
Right.
In a mask. So this one is gonna cycle through. It has all of those. And then the next setting is our morning skincare, which goes from 590, which is yellow. It's got 660, which is red. 850, which is infrared. And 1072, they're all on at the same time.
Okay, now which button?
So it looks a little yellow because yellow's on at the same time as red. So don't panic if you're like, oh, it looks a little yellow. Well, yeah, because yellow's on at the same time as red. Infrared, you can't see.
Yeah, when you just turned it a little bit, I could see a bit of red and a bit of yellow.
You will see there are little spots here, and the different lights turn on in different areas. You'll see there's a red, here's a yellow.
Which button are you using to change the modes?
The power.
The power button.
The top one. And that's all in your manual.
Right, I've used it only one time so far. So last night I was kind of browsing through, and I thought the mode thing was amazing, and I did use the bedtime.
Yeah, anti-acne is next. And that's the blue light only, that's 415.
I did use that one a little bit too, because I've got a little something going on.
Yeah, and then the last one, which I really like, is the bedtime skincare. And this cycles through the different colors. So it starts, it's got 415, which is our blue. Then it's got 590, which is yellow. 660, which is red. 850, which is infrared. And then that 1072. Now, mind you, the lasers are on at all times.
Wow.
Right, that's just a part of it.
This is really awesome. I have to say, at the bottom, it shows you all the wavelengths. At the top, it shows you the colors. This is, I'm in bedtime mode now.
Me too.
So, I mean, it just gives you so much information.
And then the next button down, this is, and it's showing you getting smaller, bigger, bigger. This is your brightness. Just turn brighter, just turn brighter again, so you can cycle through those. The next one down looks like an electrical thing. That's our pulse. I'm gonna turn it on for a second, and I'm gonna shut it off because I don't want it to be crazy on the screen. But I'm gonna turn it on, and you see it's cycling at 40 per second. And that's what helps the ATP in your skin. It makes your skin regenerate all the quicker. The bottom one on here is time. I mean, it's pretty obvious. It looks like a clock. Starts off with 10 minutes. You can change it to 20 minutes or 30 minutes. And it also shows you what brightness you're on. It shows you right here. I'm on the brightest. Now, here I'm at 50%. Now I'm on 75%. Now I'm on 100%. Everything is on this screen. It is so intuitive. You don't have to guess. Shows your battery charge.
It's just, it's amazing. It's so easy to use.
Wow, there is a lot of data on there.
There's a lot on there. And, you know, okay, so let's, I'll show you how easy it is to put on, and what's so cool about it is like with the chin factor, right? I mean, this is the same. This is gonna fit everybody. Plenty big. This is gonna bend right under your chin. So, you know, you just put it right on there and then, you know, cross it over in the back. Now you've got under-chin coverage, 100%. And that's all the lasers under there.
And that's the troubled area.
And this is where we get a lot, a lot of comments from people. So let's see, let me put this back on.
Because our previous one, I'd like to leave the neck one a little looser so you can get that reflection, but this is nice.
Yeah. All right, so just set it right on.
Oh, awesome.
Okay, that's not tight, nothing. Easy, so comfortable.
I love that.
So comfortable, like it's not, you don't feel like it's falling. Like, I couldn't even connect it in the back.
Right.
I don't know if you can hear me. I couldn't even connect it in the back, and it still wouldn't fall off.
And those little holes are breathable. You can feel your breath through there.
I can feel my breath.
Yes.
And then I'll turn it on so you can see, let's see what it looks like. It's gonna start in the red mode.
There you go, yeah.
I'll turn it up to bright, and I'll make it pulse. Can you see it pulsing?
So whatever mode you're on, it changes both. So it's not like you have to pick one for one and one for the other. Whatever mode you select, both of them will.
Yeah, and that's the red and the yellow one. And this is the anti-aging mode, morning skincare, and I'll shut off the pulse. But so easy, on, off, on, off, adjust your time. Super simple.
That's awesome. Very comfy.
Super easy to put on, super easy to take off. Super easy, I mean, you don't even need to read the directions to figure out the controller.
Absolutely.
You could just grab it. And of course, obviously, it's gonna also come with, you know, a carry, most of the time I don't put it in anything. To be honest, it just sits on my nightstand, but you know, here's a little bag you can put in there.
See, I actually do use the bag.
Do you use your bag?
Yeah, I use the bag in the old one. I actually put it in the bag last night, and then I was like, oh shoot, I gotta bring it for the broadcast tomorrow. So then I put it all back in the box.
Yeah, and I like, I love the color. I feel like it matches, you know, this. I was looking for like a, like a kind of a soft pinky nude color, you know, just like not an overbearing color, something that you're not gonna be embarrassed to walk around your house in, you know, I don't know. I just think the colors are so subtle and lovely.
The little clip, too.
Yeah.
Clip it right on your robe.
Yeah, just clip it, clip it right onto your pants, and both of them go in the same thing. There's only one charger that's gonna power both of these to their max effectiveness, and yeah, I love this.
Let's talk about the reasons people use LED, now laser, light masks. Obviously anti-aging.
Anti-aging is the biggest, right? Because it just stimulates your skin to perform better. It's been used for a very long time, right? I wanna say NASA, or somebody, is the one that invented the whole thing. They did all these studies that are just, I think, hundreds and hundreds, maybe even thousands of articles and studies and things that have been done on LED. Now the laser, that's newer, right? I mean, are there studies on the laser? Probably.
Right.
Probably. Because it's just a more focused. Intense version, yes. There are plenty of studies on lasers themselves, but when you work it into this, you'll see that there are, like, a mask or two out there that are laser-only. They're so, so, so expensive.
Right.
We wanted to make sure, as with most of the products in the line here, that it's affordable for everybody, and these masks can be expensive.
Yes, absolutely.
And I know the one that was just like all lasers, just, I feel like it's too expensive.
Right.
So I wanted something that was still affordable for everybody and wasn't better than the other one. They're both good for your skin. LEDs and laser diodes are good for your skin. It's just that more focused light. So I like to combine things. I do that with a lot of our products, with like our Fusion A, it's not just one retinoid, it's three retinoids.
I like to do that with a lot of things. I like to cover all my bases. I mean, why does it have to be only this one? Why can't it be this one and this one together to get a more precise and overall coverage at the same time? You don't have to worry about missing any areas. You're not missing any areas because we've got LED here.
This is something you could use daily.
You can, but it's not necessary.
Every other day?
They say probably like three times a week is good for a mask. You don't wanna hit that point where it's not as helpful anymore because you're constantly doing it, especially with light therapy. So three times a week is good. If you wanted to do it for a short period of time, that's okay. And if you did something else and you wanna heal your skin, they're like, yeah, absolutely. Like you did a peel. Because that's like a common question. “Can I use my mask after I did a peel?” Yes, you can. You can, absolutely. As long as it's not like creating heat. And I wanna stress what heat is. Heat isn't just about putting something on and feeling warm when there's a light on. That's not what we're talking about. That's not good. This, an LED mask or a laser mask, whatever, anything like this is absolutely fine to use after a peel, after needling. If you had plastic surgery, they'll put you under LED lights to help it heal, as LED light can reduce inflammation and other factors that help repair your skin and speed up healing.
So, absolutely, you can use this. If you did a peel, I would say you could put this on your skin for the next few days, every single day, until your skin starts peeling. Even when it's already peeling, you can continue using it. That's okay.
So I'm looking at page two in the book.
Yeah, let me put my glasses on.
It is talking about the function modes.
Yeah.
Okay, so let's take a brief moment to go through a few of these. So repairing, now that would be one that maybe you would use post peel, post needling.
Yeah, I think that would be a really good one. The red, that's just the straight normal red LED, the 660 wavelength. You can use that one or even that second mode, rejuvenation, which has yellow and red. So, yellow is primarily known for treating conditions such as hyperpigmentation. Oh, and it says right down here, silly me. I forget, like, it balances your skin texture, stimulates red blood cell production, and reduces redness, swelling, and fine lines. It's a super, super one. Now the red, anti-aging, collagen, they all help with collagen, elasticity, and tightening. Near-infrared, obviously, goes deeper into the skin.
So that would be mode number three, the anti-aging mode.
That's where we throw in the infrared, and you're gonna see that it's just so obvious what this has done. We're really precise with our modes and what's on the controller.
And then blue, this is, you know, you're sterilizing. So this is really good for acne, but it's good for other things too. Like a lot of times, people use it for their hair, hair growth, things like that. You also want to kill bacteria and other stuff on your scalp to help with that. And it says the blue is also good for inflammation, of course, so that would be good after a peel, for scars, for skin, and for oxygenating the skin. So that's where that last mode comes through, where it just cycles through all of those. That's the one I like the best, that M6. And it cycles: it starts at the yellow and stays on. Like, if you pick the 30-minute one, I think it's around five minutes or so, five, six minutes, it'll be like the one color.
And then you can almost tell when time's passing without looking at the controller, because it switches to the next color. But you know, keep in mind, you cannot see infrared, right? Infrared has no color. So you're not gonna see that. So don't think, well, what color is that one? I can't see it. It's on, even though you can't see it on the mask; it's definitely on.
And then page three is kind of fun, too.
Shows you where your lasers are. Yeah, so forehead, you know, between your 11s and around the top here, around the side, crow's feet.
And that whole chin flap.
The whole chin, yeah, laser. Mouth under the chin. Cause these are the areas that people complain about the most. So we just wanted to highlight the, you know, that targeted treatment on that. The next one, this is just explaining, this is so briefly just explaining the controller. As I said, you barely even need this. Just remember, just press the power on and off. That's just gonna cycle through your modes, and it's gonna show you what's selected right on the screen. It's gonna show you what lights are on there. Everything is there. Like, I love the controller.
It says it takes about three hours to fully charge.
Yeah, and most of the time it's charged when it arrives at you, but not always. You said yours wasn't charged.
But you know what? I may have hit the wrong button here.
Yeah, yeah.
I said I was a little lazy. I wasn't reading the manual.
No, you just pulled it out of the box.
I was in relaxation mode. So yes, absolutely. And I did, I just literally pulled it out of the box, and I was successfully able to figure out the modes and how to turn it on and all of the things.
Yeah, and now, as safe as LED lights and all those are, you know, when it comes to safety and precautions, we do want you to test it. We want you to, you know, put it on your arm and leave it there for maybe 5, 10 minutes. Check it again in a couple of hours. Make sure, because there are some medications that make you more prone to burns, more prone to problems with light. We want to make sure you're not having any issues.
Your skin shouldn't really be red, irritated, or anything like that. So always test that first. And then obviously pregnant, preparing for pregnancy, breastfeeding, they're telling you, oh, you shouldn't use it. Just ask your doctor. Because in all honesty, for the most part, it's fine. You're not using it on your belly. You're using it on your face.
They do say to consult with your healthcare professional.
Consult, yeah, consult.
Which makes sense.
Yeah, there aren't many issues here that anyone needs to worry about. And then, of course, at the end, there's a frequently asked question. It tells you how to clean it. And then, you know, like the second one, I thought 850 was infrared. Well, yeah, it is. 830 is infrared or near-infrared; it's usually referred to as such. So what the heck is 1072? You know, that's a technology thing. You know, as we're moving forward, the bigger that number, the deeper it's going into the skin, basically. You know, like when you're talking at, like, 415, the blue is only penetrating the upper layers. And then they keep getting deeper and deeper. The yellow is deeper.
And then the red is deeper, and the infrared is deeper. And then obviously we have two infrareds on here. So you can really, really, you know, work some anti-aging magic with this. Now there is the question of what we just talked about, too. Like, can I use it every day? You can. It's shorter sessions, you know? Like maybe if you want to do a 10-minute one. I like to do a 30-minute one because I like to just lie in bed and relax. So I'll do that maybe like a few times a week. I don't think I would do 30 minutes every single day.
As I said, there's a point where you don't want to go past that with light therapy, because it's losing its forward-moving effectiveness. You know, you want to always give it a little bit of time in between. So you're always eating that maximum. But that's where pulse comes in, too. Like turning it on, turning it off, turning it on, turning it off. That helps your skin to regenerate more. It has more potency when it's on, off, on, off, on, off, rather than straight on. So it's a good thing. And as long as the pulse isn't bothering you or giving you a headache, you know, I would suggest wearing it loose, but you could wear it a little tighter.
Oh, your thing turned off.
You could wear it a little bit tighter so you don't see the pulse. Like if your mask is kind of loose, you can see the pulse a little bit, you know, like you can see the light reflecting. But if you put that mask a little tighter, you won't see the pulse anymore, and you can go about your day. You know, so if you are sensitive to that and still want to use the pulse, you can just put it on a little bit tighter so you can't see it. Cause I wear it kind of loose, you know, but if you want a little tighter, if you want to watch TV, or read something on your phone while you're lying there.
So just let me get this straight. If I use this on pulse, that's like the supercharged version.
That would be.
So if you can, if it doesn't bother you, and you want the strongest, you could go boom, boom, boom, all the way up to the strongest setting.
Yep. The level, the 100% level.
And then just turn that pulse on.
And then the pulse on.
Wow. Awesome. And would it still cycle through that bedtime mode?
Yeah. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Yeah. It's just pulsing in the different colors.
Awesome. Yep. And then it says, basically, clean it with obviously nothing.
Yeah. You obviously don't want to dip it in water or anything like that, right? Like I would just, you know, put some cleaner on a damp, on a rag. Make sure it's just barely damp.
You don't want it wet or dripping. You don't want to, I mean, think of it. It's, it's, it's a, it's an electrical unit. You know, you don't want to dip that in water. Just a damp cloth. And then I also put here that if you get a stubborn stain, let's say you did have makeup on or something, like the time you put it on your face even though you should have clean skin. We'll talk about that in a minute.
Yes, absolutely.
You can use like 70% alcohol.
Okay.
And that will help to get little areas off.
I thought the interesting thing about the, how often you should use the LED mask. It says basically what happens is after you use it too much, if you're doing 60 minutes or you're doing it every single day for 30 minutes at a time, it just stops working. Like you're watering your soil, and there's already water there. So, like, you're putting more water on something that doesn't need it. And then the other couple of things that should alarm you are that it can cause redness or dryness, but then for the hyperpigmentation crowd with maybe more melanin, it can actually cause that if you're using it too often.
Yeah.
And that's infrared mostly, to be honest. So you like infrared. You definitely want to use the settings without the infrared, right?
If you're working on pigmentation.
If you're like, where we're talking about like people with darker skin or people who have melasma, like I have melasma, and I've never had any issues with this, but some people do. There's always somebody out there who's going to have an issue, right? Where they're saying, like, it can make it, I'm starting to get pigmentation. Okay, well, number one, don't use those deep settings. Use the lower settings, like mode one (just the 660) or mode two (the yellow and the 660).
The infrared doesn't come until mode three.
Yeah. And it's very clearly listed in there. So you want to avoid things like that. If that's a problem for you.
Correct.
Right.
Yeah, it's nice that they have the option to use it without that. Or all three.
Right, I mean, that was the number one thing, actually. Like, there are a few things I wanted to fix with this. One was to get the coverage under the chin. One was to add the pulsing. One was to make sure you can turn that infrared on or off.
Yeah.
So that is a very specific thing that I wanted to do.
And of course, you could use the blue by itself. That's not going to have the infrared on there clearly because it's stated it's just 415.
Nice.
And now we can talk about it for a hot second. Do you want to put this on clean skin? Okay. The general consensus.
Yes.
And that has been used for a very long time since LED. It's always been applied to clean skin.
Right.
Right. Now, and I'm not saying that you have to use a serum.
No.
There's some talk out there that a more hydrated skin might accept that light a little better.
So maybe you could put on a moisturizer.
You could put a light water-based something, a little water-based serum, or something on before you put your, I wouldn't put my whole skincare regimen on. I wouldn't put acids on. I wouldn't put heavy creams. I wouldn't put retinoids on. I'll put something nice, water-soluble, like our Regenerate Serum, Nano Hyaluronic Serum, or what a lot of people like. And this is just another group of people who love to use DNA repair enzymes before their mask, their light therapy. And you can absolutely use our Cell Intel for that purpose.
Yes, I like that.
You just put it on very thin. Is it mandatory? Nope. Not in any way, shape, or form.
Right.
You don't need an LED mask to use Cell Intel, and you don't have to use one, but yes, there's a big group of people who want to use their DNA repair enzymes with a mask, and that's a great opportunity to do so.
They complement each other.
They definitely complement each other as a perfect serum. Any of those three serums, I think, is perfect to put on prior to a mask.
What mode would you recommend if they were using Platinum Skincare Cell Intel and using the mask?
Well, to help with the plankton extract. Now, plankton extract is the only DNA repair enzyme that requires light. Now, any light will generally activate that, right? So, daytime light, some incandescent lights.
Well, we should just slather up, because we're under our pants a lot.
Yeah, I already have it on. I have it every day, twice a day. But, I mean, any light source, pretty much, if you can see in that room, your plankton should be activated. But a lot of people do like to focus on that, like if it's nighttime, and you're gonna be sitting in a dark room, yeah, then there's nothing that's gonna activate that plankton. So, if you wanna turn on your LED light, you can activate that plankton. The other ones, perfectly active. You don't have to do that. You still go to bed without using an LED light.
But if you want to, the key is blue or purple. So, like, red isn't your main factor. I wouldn't wanna just turn the red light on if I wanted to use my DNA repair enzyme, not to activate the plankton. You want blue slash violet. So, blue, blue, red. I would use, like, I love that last one. Was it the evening or the morning? Bedtime. Bedtime skincare. Because that cycles through all of the colors. Like, it's got the red, the yellow, the blue, the infrared, cycles through all the colors. So, it's probably about five minutes of blue. And that's plenty to activate the plankton extract in there. So, that's another thing to do with this that I think is good that people keep talking about, which is why we're mentioning it. We mentioned it on the box. It's not mandatory, but it is complimentary.
Absolutely. Well, I think the comfort level is, like, a 10 out of 10. I remember when you were first testing this, I was running one of our peel machines, and you came in with it, and I was like, oh, let me put it on. You remember I had it on, the sample one that we received, and I'm like, I could work in this.
Yeah, it's so comfortable. It's ridiculous.
Personally, when we launched the previous mask we had, I felt you could see an improvement in, like, elasticity and overall skin tightening. That's what I noticed first, just kind of, like, a glow. Like, I don't know, my skin just looked better, but I would say probably after about two, three weeks, I was like, wow.
So, you noticed a difference in two to three weeks. And then, I'm always looking at, like, the complete negative side of it, where people are like, I use things for, you know, six months, and I don't see anything. And they're the people that don't ever take pictures, and, you know, like, they're not really documented. But yeah, I think the general consensus is you do start to see something. Like, people may, like, you look so nice today. You look so fresh today. Like, your skin looks pretty today. I think those are the kind of comments that people get. But still, with anything, I will still stand firm with my 90 days. Like, I feel like you really need 90 days of anything. Three months solid to see, like, dramatic improvements. But I do feel that you're right. And I think a lot of people will feel they can do it once or twice and see a difference.
Right.
There are always those.
I do know that, you know, when you're on social media, and you're scrolling and things, and you start to see, you know, dermatologists and things, where they'll say, you know, list the first five things that are really gonna help somebody with anti-aging. And they always say LED.
Yeah, because it's proven.
Yeah, it really does work. It really does. I have a girlfriend who isn't 100% into skincare, but, you know, she's aging. And she recently received a mask for Christmas and is like, "I can't even believe this." I can't even believe how my skin is looking after this. It's just, you know, she was just over the moon.
Yeah.
Because it really does give you results, if you are consistent, like with anything.
Consistency is key.
Here we go. Ding, ding, ding. We need a bell.
Consistency is key.
Yes.
Yeah, yeah. Consistency is everything. It is important. I mean, you have to keep using it.
Yes.
And if you're doing, I think a lot of times people come to us, though, and they're just, they're doing everything all at once. So it's like, yeah, your skin is looking better, but which thing is it? Is it the retinoid? Is it the mask? Is it the needling? Is it the peel I just did? Well, it's all of it altogether.
But if you're just purchasing this mask, I think you'll see results within the first month or so. You're gonna see the difference in something. You may not be able to pinpoint it, but you know, like, some looks better. I look better today. Like, you know, some of that. And then if you get to like day 90, I think you'll like, everybody's telling you that you look really good. But your skin looks so pretty. And like, I don't know, it just makes your skin more alive. And it's very healing and regenerating.
And, you know, especially like when you're reaching like our age and fifties and stuff, I feel like it's almost mandatory. Like you have to do whatever you can to help fight that clock going forward.
Right? I mean, we're all in this together.
Yeah. Yeah.
We're all in this together. And every day we age a little bit more, and we're just fighting that battle. And I think this is a super easy way.
Painless.
To do that.
Painless way. That you could just go to sleep.
Yeah. Just put it on and fall asleep. Like when I say, when I do it at nighttime, that's literally what happens. Like I'm relaxed, I got my mask on, my eyes are closed. The next thing you know, I wake up because the light, the light went off, and I'm like, oh, I fell asleep. You know, right?
Yes.
Take it off, put it over there, and then go back to sleep.
I was very, very relaxed using mine last night. And I felt, you know, like I loved our other mask, but I'm a fidgeter. So I would fidget with it a little bit because, you know, it's kind of like, you know, like you said, you have to wear it tighter for it to stay on your face. So you feel that sticky feeling. You don't feel that with this.
No, no. It's not like pressing against your skin or anything like that. The only place it touches is, you know, right around here, but that's so squishy.
Yes.
It's a squish. It's not; there's nothing firm about that. It's very squishy and comfortable. It's probably, it's got to be the most comfortable mask you can put on.
It really is. And some of the criteria we talked about earlier are that there are some superior wavelengths in this.
Yeah. I mean, that's obviously of the greatest importance: 1072 infrared. That is not, I don't know. I'm sure I could do a Google search and maybe find somebody who's using it. I saw another one that's slightly less than that. It was like 1060 something, but see, there you go. This one's even deeper than that, 1072. And I believe that that was a very popular brand.
Right. Yes.
And that, that I'm sure that's brand new for them too. They probably recently added that in there because you know, technology is always changing, always evolving. And I'm always fighting like, come on, come on, come on. Can't we? Isn't there one that's stronger? Well, no, not yet. I'm like, well, all right. Will you let me know the second you can get that a little bit deeper in the skin, because that's where we're going.
A hundred percent. I can attest to that. I've been in many, many meetings with you, and we are always challenging and pushing the envelope because we ourselves need this as a…
refinement too. I'm using everything that I talk about and sell, right?
100%, 100% for sure.
I have a question then. So let's say I wanted to use this, and my wife and I like to walk on a treadmill. Like, could you do that? Or would the, like, let's say I started sweating with it on. Is that going to put the lasers into the wrong area? Just thinking about different ways that people might use it.
It's a great question.
I don't, I don't know that I'd necessarily want to use it during something where I'm going to be sweating.
Yeah.
And not because I'm concerned about the light penetrating the area where it's supposed to. I'm not concerned about that. I just don't think it would be very comfortable.
Right.
I would choose to do it at another time.
Like the mask might get gross, too.
Very true.
Sitting here thinking about it, and I go, Ooh, I don't know if that's a good idea. We should talk about this.
It's easily cleanable.
I'm not saying it's not cleanable, but like, for what if, you know.
But like, look, like this is, let's see if I can fold it backwards a little bit, but like there's no gap, there's nothing. This is 100% smooth. There's no area for moisture to get into a light or anything. This is like a solid sheet.
Right.
Nothing is going to get in there.
So if you did, you could be sweating. It's okay.
Just not running on the treadmill.
I wouldn't, yeah. I think it might be a little too warm under there. Like, if I was sweating, and you know, there's not like the hugest amount of airflow.
Sure.
You know what I mean? Like, you get some of course, but I don't think I'd want to be heavy breathing under this.
Yeah.
I think I would rather just put it on when I'm relaxed and use it as part of my relaxation.
Yes.
Evening.
Like an evening spot. Relaxing, pampering myself. I would rather use it then. Or like I said, either at night or in the morning. That's when I prefer it. But I know this is close enough that, you know, that light's not bothering you. You could totally watch TV in it.
Oh, I loved that.
You could totally read a book. You could be on your phone. Whereas, like the previous ones, you still have a lot of light getting through. It made it very hard to focus on your phone, at least in a darker room.
Exactly.
If you're in a bright room, you can focus on your phone or the TV. But if you were in a dark room, which I usually am at night, it's too hard to focus. You're like, I can't read that.
I would just shut my eyes and listen. I might listen to the TV or the news and just kind of kick back. But yeah, this one was different in that attribute.
Well, let's pop them on so we can have something fun and you can see what we look like. And put your, I was like, put your neck one on first, I would say, because you're going to have to get that, your hair's down.
Let me plug them in.
Mine is easy because my hair's up. But yours…
Well, maybe I'll just do the face one, then you can model.
You can do that. I'll model this one. You model that one. And then we'll show you how simple this is. Like, super easy. Super easy to put on. Doesn't get stuck in your hair or anything.
No.
I feel like this is easy peasy. My neck's covered, my chin's covered. Turn it on.
Nice.
See everything fine. Well, except I don't have my reading glasses on. I'm going to put it to my bedtime. That's my favorite one. Turn it up all the way. Turn my pulse on.
Oh, let me turn my pulse on. Oh yeah. I got to turn up my strength.
There we go.
All right.
Yay. We'll see you with yours on.
Here you go. We can't wait to see your pictures of you wearing your mask.
Absolutely.
