Noticing Fine Lines? Start With These Chemical Peels
Because a lot of times, you know, wrinkles- you have more than just wrinkles. Maybe you have wrinkles and pigmentation. Maybe you have wrinkles and acne.
Right.
Because if you do, Mandelic is great for all of those. So you could use this for wrinkles, pigmentation, and acne. So if you've got a couple of things, Mandelic is a great one. If you're just kind of focused on this refreshing, I want to target my wrinkles, but I'm scared of a deep peel, right? I don't want that.
Yeah.
I want something I can do like weekly.
And I get it. I can respect that, you know?
Yeah.
So we are going to focus on peels for wrinkles. Anti-aging.
Mm-hmm.
It's what we're all working on, right?
It is. And, you know, you can start that at any age, really. I think as soon as you are old enough to start thinking, "Should I be worrying about wrinkles?" You're probably old enough to start using some good products.
Absolutely.
I mean, you're in your early 20s or whatever.
Yeah.
Why not have healthy, beautiful skin your whole life, you know?
Right. We've got a couple of different types of peels. We're going to talk about a couple of superficial peels.
Yeah.
And then we're going to talk about a couple of heavier, medium-depth peels. So let's start with the superficial peels like glycolic or mandelic.
Yeah. So glycolic, I think, is probably one of the most popular acids there are.
It used to be the gold standard, right?
Right. Everybody, I think that was the first peel I ever heard of.
Right.
And that was like 30 years ago.
Yeah.
It was like a resurgence of it back then. And people started, probably a TV show or something, you know? And people started talking about the peels. And I remember when we thought glycolic 30 was strong.
Yeah.
You know? And it's not. It's very, very mild.
Yeah. One of our mildest.
It's a great peel to start with if chemical peels are new for you and you're a little scared. But you really want to kind of focus on wrinkles. It's like a nice, refreshing peel. It's water-soluble. Anybody can use it. And it works well.
Right.
It penetrates well. It's because it has a very tiny molecule; it penetrates deep into your skin. And I think people really love a glycolic peel. I find it does sting a little bit.
Yeah.
I would say...
A little bit more irritating.
Like the next one we have, the one we have here is Mandelic. They're probably fairly equal-ish in strength, in all honesty. I think the Mendelic feels a little bit more comfortable than glycolic. So a lot of times I would almost think of glycolic as being a little stronger. But that's only just because it's more irritating.
Like the irritation factor. Yeah.
Yeah. It's not really stronger. Mandelic actually might be stronger than glycolic because of, like, that PK value. Not pH value. It's like the PK value.
Right.
So it's a little different, and it's a little bit more active. But they're both great.
Yeah.
I find that if you're more sensitive, Mendelic might be a better choice for you.
Sure.
Or if you have other options. Because a lot of times, with wrinkles, you have more than just wrinkles. Maybe you have wrinkles and pigmentation. Maybe you have wrinkles and acne.
Right.
Because if you do, Mendelic is great for all of those. So you could use this for wrinkles, pigmentation, and acne. So if you've got a couple of things, Mendelic is a great one.
Very good.
If you're just kind of focused on this refreshing, I want to target my wrinkles, but I'm scared of a deep peel. Right? I don't want that.
Yeah.
I want something I can do like weekly.
And I get it. I can respect that.
Yeah. Yeah. Then I think glycolic's great.
Yeah.
And both of these, they're hydroxy acids. They can be done once a week or once every other week. Same thing. You just kind of have to test it on your skin and see what your turnover is because it can take three days or so before your skin starts to get dry. And then another three to five days more for it to flake. Some people, they're only dry for maybe three to five days, and they're done. Other people, they might go all the way out to six, seven, eight days.
Yeah.
So I say once you find out how long this is going to take your skin to turn over, you can decide if you want to do this weekly or if you want to do this every other week. I think a lot of people like to do it every other week, and I tend to recommend that. Our direction sheet recommends that because it gives you time to use your retinoids or any other leave-on acids.
Yeah.
And I think those work really well.
Another point: these are timed acids.
Yeah.
So you put them on for a set amount of time.
Yeah.
And then you rinse it off.
And then you rinse it off. So if you're scared, it's your very first time, you can leave it on for two minutes. That's fine. Two minutes, rinse it off. See how that was. You're like, okay, I can do that. And then next time, leave it on for like three or four minutes.
Yeah.
I usually tell people to start with five minutes, especially with mandelic. I'm like, just put it on for five minutes and rinse it off. And then you can just, each week or every other week, whatever you're doing, just keep adding on a few minutes. Add on five minutes. Just don't leave it on for 45 minutes the first time. That's not safe.
Very true. Right. I mean, the application is super simple.
Just as easy as putting a toner on your face.
Honestly, I do get a lot of calls sometimes where they'll say, " Oh, I've had this for weeks, and I'm afraid.
I'm scared.
I'll walk through it right with them on the phone. And then they're like, that's it?
I'm like, have you ever put a toner on your face?
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's easy. Let's do it together. It's super simple.
Yeah. Watch our video and do it alongside us.
Yes, we have videos, too.
Yeah. All right. So now let's go into the dream peel.
Yeah. Dream peel. So this one is vitamin A and vitamin C.
Yeah.
That's like three different types of vitamin A. Three different retinoids are in here.
And then a very high amount of vitamin C.
So three vitamin C's.
No, one vitamin C.
One vitamin C.
Three vitamin A's.
Three vitamin A's. Got it.
Three vitamin A's are in here. So yeah, all the same retinoids that we carry, you know, the retinol, retinaldehyde, and the grain active retinoid are all in here. So this will really cause a little bit of dryness, a little bit of flaking. Most people get kind of an all-over light flaking. And you don't have to flake to get results from this, though. Not everybody flakes. But most people, like, whether you flake or not, a couple of days later they're just like, my skin is beautiful. It is glowing. And it's like, yeah. And vitamin A is so, so good for your wrinkles.
It really is.
And so is vitamin C. So that's kind of like why both of them are in here; vitamin C is also excellent for stimulating collagen and all these wonderful things, anti-aging in your skin. So this is a super duper peel. You do this once a month on its own. Like, you're not going to put it on with those. You can alternate them. It can also go on with other acids, other stronger acids like TCA and things. And that's kind of where we get to here. So if you've done a couple of mild ones or you've done a couple of series of mild ones and you're like, I think I can do a little bit more. Then, I mean, this is the Mac Daddy, right? Of wrinkle peels. TCA is the gold standard here because it has actually been proven, like beyond proven in studies, that this stimulates collagen, it stimulates elastin, and it stimulates glycosaminoglycans, which are your skin's natural moisturizing factors. As you get older, those wrinkles look worse because our skin is drier.
The dryness also helps stimulate your skin's natural moisturizing factors, which is beneficial, especially as you age. And this is going to, since it's a layered peel, it's going to penetrate deeper in your skin, right where we need to stimulate all that.
Because it's going to stimulate collagen for weeks after.
Months. One TCA peel, I think it was documented, it was like eight months.
Wow.
Where it was still continuously stimulating. That's just building and building and building. Like, I mean, could you imagine doing, you know, even just you're doing one peel a month for six to eight months.
Yeah.
For the next six to eight months after that, you're still stimulating. Even if you don't do any more after that, the effects from this peel are still stimulating. This one's stimulating. This one's stimulating. They're all just compounding.
It's like the gift that keeps giving.
It does. It is the gift that keeps giving. Like I'm saying.
I love that.
It's just going. This one's going to keep going. Oh, this one's going too. You know, you're going to get so much collagen. Kind of makes me want to go home and do a TCA peel.
That's what I was saying. I haven't done one of these in a while.
I haven't done one in a little bit either.
I know. Well, I have another peel I have to try.
I know. I heard about that. Something exciting.
Something new. Something exciting this way comes.
Yes.
Yes. And it's an alternative for our TCA users.
Yes. Right.
But yes, that'll come along soon, and we'll have that in some new videos.
But again, this is a peel that is layered in five-minute increments.
Yes. So you put on the first layer. And we like to layer things because we want to wait, make sure, and allow our skin to respond. Because if you were to layer something every, you know, 30 seconds or a minute, your skin hasn't had time to process that yet. It literally, every bit of liquid you lay on your skin, your skin's proteins are going to use that up, every last drop. If it's like wet and drippy, it might take, you know, five minutes to use that up. So we have to give our skin time to process it. If there's any frosting, which is that white haze, or erythema, or whatever, we want to allow our skin to do its job, because we don't want to put that next layer on until we know we're done with that one. Right? Okay, yeah, it's safe to apply another one.
So set that timer. Set your timer for five minutes.
Yeah.
Give it time to do its job.
Yep.
And then proceed with your next layer.
Yes. And yeah, I love this one. And this one is also, you know, you could add this one on. This could be an advanced peel. You could do the TCA and the Dream Peel. We already talked about the benefits of all this and the benefits of all this. I mean, geez, can you imagine? Right? This is super popular. I just want to say, always try them separately before you layer. We don't know if you're allergic to something in here or here, or if you'll have a reaction. This can cause some warmth in the skin. If you don't know that, you start panicking. Always use them separately before you combine acids.
That makes sense.
But like, yeah, this is the big guy, and this is the cherry on top if you want to go, like, really to town.
And if you are using the Dream Peel as your peel booster, you're only going to apply that one time.
One time.
Yeah, so it's not like the direction states where you apply it one, two, or three days in a row if you're piggybacking it with an acid; one time only.
Yeah. And I just want to say, oh, this one doesn't have the manual. The manual has an advanced peel section.
Oh, good.
So it tells you exactly how to do the TCA, adding on your boosters, or the Jessner, adding on the boosters. It tells you how to use TCA and Jessner and all those together. There's a whole separate section for how to advanced layer your peels. You know, just work up to that. And I think most people do. They pretty much start with the milder ones, get comfortable with the process. But if it's brand new to you, which it probably is if you're watching this, work your way up.
Yeah.
And then I think by then, it's like old hat to you. You'll be really good and confident. Your skin's looking great. You're taking your pictures, and you're going to see big differences. I have seen people look years younger than before they started doing peels. It is an amazing, amazing thing.
Yeah.
So yeah, you can do it. It is so easy to soften these lines.
This is the perfect time because you have these, you know, the winter months, even though I know not everybody has winter. But, you know, let's face it, you get out and about more come, you know, April, May, June, July, August. And then come the holidays, you know, everybody's trying to hurry up and get...
Yeah, you do a lot inside.
Get ready for the holidays and things. And the latter part of the year is a great time to start a peel series. And then you will be nice and refreshed and repairing any wrinkles and things that you've got over the course of the year.
Yeah. Yeah. And it's just like I said, it's a very easy process to really improve your skin and really minimize those wrinkles. Now, they're not all going to disappear.
Yeah.
But they are definitely going to improve greatly.
Yes.
Like greatly.
Yeah.
If you've done a few series of these, you will see. Just please take your photos.
Yes.
Day one, and every month, take a photo so you can document your changes because we look forward to seeing that.
Absolutely. And you can do this safely at home. You're going to get the most bang for your buck. I mean...
Oh, gosh.
It's just so cost-effective.
It is.
And so, like you said, efficient. It's going to keep building and building and stimulating collagen for like a year.
Yeah.
It's cool.
Yeah, it's amazing.
Do that peel series. Get started now.
Yep.
